Our Story
JMJ Repairs began in 2018, started by Gregory Smith as a repairs business. In 2023, Greg earned his General Contracting license and business exploded for him. A casual conversation between Greg and Elliot, already good friends, about the business after church one day sparked an idea: could they combine their backgrounds and talents to create a construction company? Not long after, Elliot offically came on board in 2024, and JMJ Construction was born: focusing on remodels, additions, and new construction projects.
In his first year as a GC, Greg completed 2 projects in North Carolina. By their second year of working together, Greg and Elliot completed 20 large scale projects in both North and South Carolina as the JMJ Construction team, and are continuing to exponentially expand.
Today, Greg and Elliot are co-owners of the company, leading a team of PMs and Admin, and using their respective talents and skills to oversee all aspects of the growing business of JMJ Construction.

From the start, Greg and Elliot knew they wanted their company to be founded on professionalism, integrity, and quality. These are values that guide every employee and every project at JMJ.
From the first moments of every project, we emphasize communication and transparency. It’s no small thing to entrust your home to someone, and clients know they can trust us, and always know what is going on at any point in a project. We stand on our word and deliver what we promise: we are straightforward, honest, and open. Clients know they can depend on us and depend on the quality of our work. All of our projects are designed and delivered to the highest standards. We emphasize attention to detail, thinking outside the box in unique situations.
We believe that our work reflects not only us, but God who has endowed us with these gifts and entrusted them to us to share generously. St. Francis, once said "Preach the gospel at all times; if necessary, use words.” Actions speak louder than words, and we know the impact we have made through our projects will stay with our clients long after our conversations with them have faded from memory. We want to share God’s love with others through the work we do. Our projects reflect the love that we have for God, and it is our hope that God will use us and our work to draw the world closer to Him.
What’s in a name?
Our company is named after the Holy Family- Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
For us it’s more than just a name, it’s what our whole company is based on. In Nazareth, the carpentry of Christ and St. Joseph modeled how good work, done well, is a holy thing. Our business is founded on the same values of humility, trustworthiness, and honesty, and we seek to sanctify our families, employees and clients through the simple work of construction.
Our hope is that our company will be a school of virtue for us, just as much as Joseph's workshop was for the Holy Family.
